3.0 PRACTICE OF BEEKEEPING

3.19 aware of the need for good hygiene in the handling of honey for human consumption;

NOTES

Apart from common sense personal and food hygiene precautions, there are legal requirements for handling foodstuffs that are to be sold.

The main requirements for these state that equipment needs to be made of stainless steel or food grade plastic. Premises used for preparation must have hot and cold water with a sink and not be directly connecting to the toilet. Premises must be cleanable and have first aid facilities.
