2.0 EQUIPMENT

The Candidate will be

2.3 able to assemble a frame and fit it with wax foundation;

NOTES

Remove the wedge (the strip of loosely attached wood) from the top bar.

Tap the side bars into the notches on the top bar. Make sure the slot on the side bar faces inwards.

Fit one of the two bottom bars across between the notches on the bottom of the side bars. Leave an empty space for the second bottom bar just now, on the same side that the wedge was removed from the top bar.

Make sure the four sides are square.

Take the foundation and bend the large wire loops to a right angle.

Slide the foundation up the slot in the side bars until the wire loops meet the top bar.

Attach the second bottom bar.

Place the wedge back in position. Hammer in nails through the wedge where the wire loops are, to fix the the foundation on the top bar.

Hammer nails through the top of the side bars to fix them to the top bar.

Hammer nails up through the bottom bars into the side bars. Don’t nail across the bottom of the side bars otherwise it is very difficult to dismantle and reuse the frames later.
